Reasonable price. Good size rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast was decent. Closest train station is Xincheng Taroko station.
From there, it was a short taxi ride. Taroko visitor information center is walking distance from the hotel. There is also a nearby. Food was good. Breakfast was mostly Chinese breakfast, they also had toast, butter, jam and coffee.
We ended up having dinner there during our stay 2 nights as most restaurants nearby were either full or already closed by 8pm. The hosts were very friendly and helpful in arranging transportation.
No frills place, but very clean, comfortable and quiet. Fantastic location and delicious, simple breakfast fare. It was clean, the beds and sheets were good, the food available to order for dinner was really very good and a convenient place to eat after a day of hiking.
Be aware that the bathroom is typical old Taiwan style, with shower not separated from the room so water gets everywhere. When you go into the bathroom, you are expected to wear the provided bathroom slippers that stay in the bathroom.
The owner was very helpful with information and the location was ideal for Taroko. It is just outside the front entrance to the park so you can easily walk to the park visitor centre, and the bus stop is just in front of the hotel to go into the park or to Xincheng or Hualien stations.
A 10 minute walk to park headquarters, which made it easy to access some of the trails at sunrise and well before the crowds arrived.
The bus stop for the park and a is just down the street again getting you into the park early. Room with 2 double beds and window overlooking the mountains of the national park.
Bus stop basically just in front of the hotel taking you to the heart of the national park or to the train station.
