I just liked the Lego movie so much, I had to get this as soon as it was out of theaters because none of my friends would watch it with me in a theater.
This movie is hilarious, tons of Batman references and frankly a lot of mature humor I don't mean explicit, just that it would probably fly over a kid's head.
Will Arnnett is really great in this, great execution and perfect comedic timing. We got to see a little bit of Superman, which I hope we will see again in the future.
Definitely worth a watch for both adult and children, it was a great follow up to the Lego Movie even though it's not really a sequel and more of a spin-off.
I am not reviewing the movie, but rather the purchase. I thought this movie was fantastic! I rented, and now I will buy it.
I've watched it more than 5 times during my rental period and can't seem to get enough of the "Let's Get Nut's" Batman song in the beginning of the movie.
As for whether or not it's for kids, I'll leave these comments as this is coming from a 37 year old: I didn't think it was any more or less violent than Despicable Me or Monsters University.
However, my young ones didn't understand many references made in the movie despite finding it enjoyable. Specifically, there are many references hilarious ones or hilariously spun that are either before many 10 year old's time, are from movies that were not for children, or are not part of US pop culture.
For example, "You wanna get nuts?! Let's get nuts! Or the Daleks from Dr. I'm sure the adults appreciate the homage to the 's Batman rest in peace Adam West as represented by Alfred's batsuit and the underlying theme song.
Also the "Pow! The humor was on point! I loved the sarcasm and indirectly making fun of Brilliantly written and just a bowl of laughs!
If you are a fan of the ridiculous, you will LOVE this movie. The comedy is silly, goofy and light-hearted. Will Armett nails it as Batman.

And the song and dance number at the end? Laugh out loud! Lego Batman totally made the first Lego Movie. This one is even better.

This is a great movie. I love and and all 3 kids actually sit down and watch it whenever we put it on. If you have little boys do not rent this one, buy it!
It is very good and really cool they bring in some different characters like Sauron and Voldemort and King Kong! I like the message it sends- its like a family is more important than anything else message and work together and you can make the world a better place message.

I loved the last Lego movie that had Batman with the same actor voicing him. However, this movie was even more funny than that one was.
There are jokes in the movie that only adults will get but nothing crude so it is suitable for the whole family. This one did all of that and more by teaching a few life lessons for Kids or Adults.
Where do I begin? The epic password to the Batcave? The phenomenal shout-outs to past Batmans? Everything is awesome about this movie!
It actually confronts the fact that the character of Batman is a standoffish jerk--and forces him to do something about that.

Great family fun movie! I think it works better for adults as I am not sure the kids get all the references and gags in the movie, but my son who is 8 has his favourite parts and quotes of the film which are completely different to the ones that I really like.
