The 4-star rating is for a review of the movie itself. This movie is a sort of action comedy that is based during the time of World War 2. The Bastards are a group of people out to kill and many Nazis as they can.
The basic plot is that there is going to be a big movie premiere at a theatre in France. The goal of the Bastards is to bomb the theatre because there will be high ranking Nazis in attendance.
This movie is lots of fun and very enjoyable. I feel like the movie struggles with some pacing as it can be slow at times but overall this movie is very funny.
Brad Pitt is fantastic in his role and he is hysterical. I would defiantly recommend this movie and it is a must see for any fans of graphic comedy. It featured Bad Pitt as Lt.
Aldo Raine, Michael Fassbender as Lt. The film has two stories that converge at the end. He finds them, and kills them except for one daughter Shosanna.
Later she finds herself running a movie theater in Paris that gains the attention of Private Zoller, and because of him, gets picked for a special viewing of a movie based upon his exploits in the war against the Americans.
The film will be viewed by Hitler himself, along with Landa. The second story revolves around Lt. Aldo Raine and his commandos called the Basterds who are mostly Jewish Americans.
They spread a reign of terror behind the German lines by scalping Nazi soldiers and drawing a swastika on their heads with a knife so that no one could ever forget they fought for the Nazis.
The Basterds along with Lt. Like the best Tarantino movies he features great dialogue with action.
He holds a long conversation with the farm owner where he talks about his job of hunting down Jews.
Tarantino then shows flashes of the family underneath the kitchen where Landa and the owner are talking. He then flips to Lt. Aldo Raine putting together his Basterds.
He tells his eight soldiers they owe him scalps each of German soldiers to pay the Nazis back for the cruelty and destruction of Jews they have carried out across Europe.
Tarantino thus creates the struggle between good and evil and the revenge fantasy that will be the basis of the film. He also borrowed from his own films breaking up Basterds into chapters and yellow titles for some of the main characters like the two Kill Bills.
The characters are engaging. The dialogue and main scenes stand out. The fantasy ending is fantastic. I'm losing IQ points trying to "get" the reason why anyone would want to make this movie.
Gratuitous graphic violence? Thus demeaning any southerner because they have a distinct accent Too bad the leader wasn't from Brooklyn. Then he would ahve been thought of as much smarter.

Afterward, I looked up the reviews because I could not understand what the hype was about. I agreed with the critics--really no substance at all.
This satire speaks to you, makes you laugh, whimper, smile sadistically with joy or just be plain That said - this is a wonderfully skewered take on the WW2 movie genre, seen through a Sergio Leone lens.
Don't expect a realistic historical document - it's a movie! Let down only by an overlong scene in Now, Ive been to see this movie four times now.

The acting of course is great, from Waltz in particular, but also I think a heartfelt and also a breakthrough performance from Melanie Laurent.
I wouldnt be shocked if her name appears with waltz Erroneously portrayed by its trailer as simply an excessively violent and relatively mindless World War Two parody chronicling the fictional exploits of American Lieutenant Aldo Raine and his rag tag bunch of soldiers, at its heart, Inglourious Basterds is a tragic tale of revenge portrayed through the character of Shosanna Dreyfus, a young French Jew who As per normal the movie is a comic book narrative made real, the violence present is brief and sudden and punctuates the dialogue which is just great.
I expected it to be a bad movie and it was just great. Nothing is what you would expect from normal narrative convention in movies, if its self indulgent then good for tarantino.
A brilliant piece of cinema. I love the set pieces, the cinematography, the characters. Amazing, a must-see. Mexican stand off, great soundtrack and someone you'd love to hate.
All of these are in this film and are all in his others. This so does not make it worth seeing twice or even 3 times. It's nasty and some scenes are long but definitely go.
