Then there's Peter, the young goat herder who befriends Heidi. He's a little boy, and not unlike other boys he quests adventure and exploration.
Many of the episodes revolve around Heidi and Peter learning something new or challenging each others' wits. Later on, Clara joins in from "the city" Frankfurt and along with her Governess, we have a show with character depth and charm.
Most of all, Heidi portrays a sweet girl living in idyllic Switzerland and promotes kindness, curiosity, and a sweet virtue that is missing in so many other children's programming today.
